Have you ever wondered how teachers were they as students during their school years? Well, GG staff reporter Jonathan Rodriguez went out and asked teachers a few interesting questions.
Ms. Adams
Question: How were you as a student?
Answer: I was a great student, I liked school. It was the era where technology didn’t exist, no cellphones, no videogames or electronics.
Question: What year did you graduate?
Answer: I graduated in 1985.
Question: What was your favorite subject?
Answer: My favorite subjects were math and science because I love numbers and I wanted to be an astronomer.
Question: What was your least favorite subject?
Answer: My least favorite subject was physics. I passed it, but it was one of my least favorites.
Question: Did you ever get bullied or see bullying? What advice would you give?
Answer: Yes, both, I became an immediate advocate for people getting bullied. Tell someone, talk to anyone and especially your parents.

Mr. Valdovinos
Question: How were you as a student?
Answer: I was a student that always enjoyed learning, I usually got A’s and B’s. In 8th grade I got in trouble with the dean for hanging out with the wrong people. That’s when I learned a valuable lesson.
Question: What was your favorite subject?
Answer: I always loved history, especially in 7th grade where I had this teacher, Mr. Marcus, who was very inspirational and made the class feel comfortable.
Question: What was your least favorite subject?
Answer: My least favorite subject was art. I wasn’t talented. My drawings would’ve made anyone laugh, but I tried.
Question: Did you ever get bullied or see bullying? What advice would you give?
Answer: I believe everyone has been bullied, they bullied me for my glasses. My advice is to stay strong and not let any of that get into your future. Stay resilient.

Ms. Perrigue
Question: How were you as a student?
Answer: I was a good student. I was ASB president in middle school and cheerleader in high school. I struggled a little bit in math, but I was very good in English.
Question: What year did you graduate?
Answer: I graduated in 1992.
Question: What was your favorite subject?
Answer: My favorite subject was English because I love to read stories.
Question: What was your least favorite subject?
Answer: Math because it was difficult for me to understand.
Question: Did you ever get bullied or see bullying? What advice would you give?
Answer: I did not experience bullying, the advice I could give is to treat others just like you want to be treated.
Mr. Fuentes
Question: How were you as a student?
Answer: I had a mindset of a structure and followed the rules and mind my own business. They never called my parents or got in trouble.
Question: What year did you graduate?
Answer: I graduated in 1992.
Question: What was your favorite subject?
Answer: My favorite subject was Math and Typing. Math because I do okay with numbers and finances, and Typing because I like to work independently and I also love the sound of the keyboard.
Question: What was your least favorite subject?
Answer: Science, didn’t like the experiments, didn’t like it in general.
Question: Did you ever get bullied or see bullying? What advice would you give?
Answer: I’ve never experienced it or seen it. I don’t believe in bullying but I believe in seriousness, most people just play around but there is bullying that needs to be taken care of. Don’t be a bystander, say or do something.

Mr. Merayo
Question: How were you as a student?
Answer: I was quiet and kept myself, but I worked hard and did all my work.
Question: What year did you graduate?
Answer: I graduated in 1988.
Question: What was your favorite subject?
Answer: P.E and sports, I love being outdoors and playing sports.
Question: What was your least favorite subject?
Answer: Biology, it was too much information.
Question: Did you ever get bullied or see bullying? What advice would you give?
Answer: I saw bullying in sports, I saw harassment. You need to tell them to stop with an adult tone, if that doesn’t work tell an adult.
Ms. Chawannakul
Question: How were you as a student?
Answer: I always tried my best, I wanted to get good grades because I had friends that had good grades and I wanted to be like them. However, I didn’t ask questions because I was shy.
Question: What year did you graduate?
Answer: I graduated in 1997
Question: What was your favorite subject?
Answer: Math because I had to figure things up and I love puzzles.
Question: What was your least favorite subject?
Answer: I didn’t like history because I didn’t understand what I read.
Question: Did you ever get bullied or see bullying? What advice would you give?
Answer: I have seen people being bullied, if it’s not a true thing you just ignore them. You need to explain that everyone is different and unique.
Mr. Estrada

Question: How were you as a student?
Answer: I was often a B student, I enjoyed my classes where my friends were and I always gave 100%.
Question: What year did you graduate?
Answer: I graduated in 2016
Question: What was your favorite subject?
Answer: My favorite subjects were English, Video Production and Choir because all three allowed me to expressed myself in different ways.
Question: What was your least favorite subject?
Answer: Spanish because anytime I tried to use the Spanish I learned my family didn’t understand me.
Question: Did you ever get bullied or see bullying? What advice would you give?
Answer: Yes, I was bullied both to my face and behind my back. My greatest advice to anyone is keep your friend circle small, and don’t let them affect what you enjoy. Be yourself and know that those who are truly your friends, will love you for who you are.
