Kyra Carreon Moreno, Staff Reporter

This week I got to sit down with Assistant Principal Mr. Press and ask him about our school’s preparations for the SBAC testing which starts on May 1st. This is what he said.

Question: What is our school’s goal with SBAC testing?

Answer: Our school’s goal realistically is to have the students’ SBAC levels on both the Math and English tests to improve or grow higher to a level above from one year to the next. Improvement is key.

Q: How will the faculty and staff encourage and support students during testing?

A: The staff have been working on a variety of things like videos and incentives that they hope will encourage students to do their very best on the test. The teachers are also working hard to prepare students for the tests. The staff also do their best to reward you for doing well on the test.

Q: What advice do you have for students before testing?

A: Get a good night’s rest . Focus mainly on the test. If you have any questions about the test before or after taking it, always ask a counselor or teacher. Set your mind to believing you can do well.
